The Nova Scotia Chambers of Commerce is the chief advocacy group for more than 6700 business owners province-wide and is comprised of 32 Chambers of Commerce across the province. The NSCC board of directors was reformatted in 2011 to consists of "at large" members and regional representatives, as well, Policy committee was established to deal with business issues as they arise. People who serve on the Board or the Policy Committee also are members of their local chambers of commerce and meet regularly to formulate province-wide policy decisions, discuss business issues aimed at all three levels of government.
The Nova Scotia Chambers of Commerce lobby governments on issues that include taxation, trade, transportation, energy, economic development, education and business growth. NSCC also takes part in national policy initiatives sponsored by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
